Coimbatore: Surpassing the previous record of reporting 798 COVID-19 cases in one day, Tamil Nadu has reported 805 cases, today. This is the highest number of cases that the State has reported in a single day. No new cases have been reported in Coimbatore, Tirupur and the Nilgiris.

The total cases in Tamil Nadu crossed the 16000 mark and reached 17,082 on Monday, after 805 cases were tested positive for COVID-19.
Of the 805 cases tested positive for COVID-19, Chennai accounts for 542 cases and 93 are from other states. Seven people are reported dead and the total death count has increased from 118.
According to reports, till now 4,21,450 samples have been tested, of which 17,082 persons have tested positive till date and. 4,03,762 samples were tested negative. Testing of 606 samples are under process. 18,770 samples are repeat samples.
8,731 COVID-19 positive patients have been discharged following treatment till today. 407 patients Hence, 8,230 active cases are under treatment as on today. 407 people have been discharged today in the State, today.
The general public are advised to adhere to health and travel advisories issued by the State Government. Public should follow the cough etiquette by covering the face using handkerchief / towel while coughing and sneezing.
