27th Shramik train departs from Coimbatore; 1600 migrant workers leave to Jharkand

The 27th Shramik train from Coimbatore ferrying 1600 migrant workers to Jharkand departed at 6 pm, on Sunday.

Coimbatore: The 27th Shramik train from Coimbatore ferrying 1600 migrant workers to Jharkand departed at 6 pm, on Sunday.

With the concerted efforts of the district administration and railways, so far 37,187 migrant workers from Coimbatore district have been ferried to their respective home towns through Shramik trains.

Earlier, the batch of migrant workers scheduled to leave to Jharkand assembled at a private wedding hall. They were provided with food and water and later transported to railway station at 3 PM. Ahead of boarding, they were tested for temperature using thermal screening.



Before boarding the train, the migrant workers thanked the district administration and all good-hearted people for assisting them through the process.

It may be noted that so far, 2813 shramik trains have been operated across the nation and 37 lakh pasaanger migrant workers have been ferried to their respective home towns.
