Coimbatore: With COVID-19 cases increasing everyday in Tamil Nadu, 765 posithve cases have been confirmed, on Sunday. The total COVID cases in TN has increased to 16277. Chennai which continues to top the list of positive cases in TN, has reported 587 cases today, thus the total cases in Chennai has crossed the 10,000 mark.
No new cases have been reported in Coimbatore, Tirupur and the Nilgiris district. The case tested positive in the Nilgiris district has been added to the Chennai list, as the patient is a traveler from Chennai to the Nilgiris. Presently, the patient is treated at ESI hospital in Coimbatore.

8 people under treatment for COVID-19 passed away today, thus the death numbers have surged to 111.
According to the data provided by the State health department, 4,09,615 samples have been taken in the State, so far. Of which, 16,277 persons have been tested positive till date and 3,92,690 samples were tested negative and 18,363 are repeat samples.
Till date, 8,324 COVID-19 positive patients have been discharged following treatment, hence there are 7,839 active cases are
under treatment as on today.

The general public are advised to adhere to health and travel advisories issued by the state Government. Public should follow the cough etiquette by covering the face using handkerchief / towel while sneezing/ coughing. Do frequent hand washing with soap and water.
