Tirupur: Hairdressing salons and beauty parlours reopened in Tirupur today. Tirupur Corporation officials are conducting inspections to ascertain the requisite norms and guidelines are being met.
While the 114 afflicted with COVID-19 have recovered in Tirupur district, it has been free from new cases for some days now. Meanwhile, the government has permitted operation of salons and beauty parlours in the state barring Chennai. Shops in containment zones have not been permitted to open as well.
Following this relaxation, salons and beauty parlours have been permitted to remain open from 7 AM to 7 PM. The use of AC has been prohibited and employees and customers with symptoms such as fever are not permitted. Other guidelines include extensive of disinfectants, social distancing and mandatory use of face masks.
To ensure the shops are maintaining the requisite norms and guidelines, the Tirupur Corporation officials are conducting inspections at the shops.
