Coimbatore: According to the State health bulletin released today, Tamil Nadu has tested 3,97,340 samples so far out of which 15,512 persons have tested positive for COVID-19. On May 23, 759 new cases were reported.
Coimbatore: According to the State health bulletin released today, Tamil Nadu has tested 3,97,340 samples so far out of which 15,512 persons have tested positive for COVID-19. On May 23, 759 new cases were reported.
No new cases have been reported in Coimbatore, Tirupur and the Nilgiris district.
With new cases in the State maintaining an upward trend everyday, the total moved past the 15,000 mark today. Till date, 7,491 COVID-19 positive patients have recovered and been discharged while 7,915 active cases are under treatment. Of the 15,512 positives, a whopping 9364 are from Chennai. On Saturday, Chennai recorded 624 of the total 759 positives.
The COVID-19 death count has surpassed 100 after five patients passed away in Chennai today. With this the death toll has soared to 103.
The general public are advised to adhere to health and travel advisories issued by the state Government. Public should follow the cough etiquette by covering their faces using handkerchief/towel while sneezing and coughing and wash their hands frequently with soap and water.
