Husband stabbed and wife attacked over a quarrel about a dog
Coimbatore: Ravi lives in Idugampalayam near Sirumugai next to Mettupalayam with his wife Shantamani.
Allegedly, their grandson Mukesh tied a rope around the neck of a dog belonging to their neighbor, Shekhar, and was seen to tug it playfully.
Seeing this, Sekhar's wife Shobhana slapped the boy, who complained to his grandparents. On hearing this, the couple visited Shekhar's house and started arguing about the incident.In a scuffle that ensued thereafter, Shobhana was said to have spoken ill about Shantamani.
Shobhana's siblings Ravi and Jayaraj arrived at the scene and started manhandling the couple. Jayaraj stabbed Ravi's hand with a knife and beat Shantamani with a wooden club. Both are being treated at a nearby hospital.
Investigating the complaint filed by Ravi, police have arrested Shekhar while his wife Shobana has gone absconding.
