District administrations must address the issue of sending migrant workers to their home states: MP PR Natarajan
Tirupur: Coimbatore MP PR Natarajan said district administrations must meticulously address the issue of sending migrant workers back to their home states.
MP PR Natarajan addressed the press at the Communist Party of India (Marxist) office in Avinashi Road, Tirupur.
He said the district administration has not systematically surveyed migrant workers in the districts of Coimbatore and Tirupur. He requested that the shortcomings in applying online for the travel back home should be rectified.
He also asked the Tamil Nadu government to reject the proposed 12 -hour work plan and demanded salary for the lockdown period should not be deducted. He said the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has given voice to important demands in the industrial sector.
The CPI(M) MP also demanded that the district administration should come forward to provide adequate compensation to the farmers whose agricultural lands were affected by setting up of high-power transmission towers.
