Goat thief caught red handed in Mettupalayam
Coimbatore: Public caught a goat thief red handed and handed him over to the police.
Ravi (40) hails from Dasampalayam in Mettupalayam next to Coimbatore. He had been tending goats in the area yesterday morning. At the time, a person arriving in an unregistered two wheeler tried to steal a goat and escape.
When Ravi raised an alarm, the people in the vicinity caught the miscreant and handed him over to the police.
Upon investigation, it was found that the culprit is Vijayan aka Narayanan (23), aa two-wheeler mechanic from Ambedkar Nagar in the Bilichi Periya Mathampalayam area. The Mettupalayam police registered a case and jailed the thief after an inquest.
