Police peruse CCTV footage in search of a jewellery thief
Tirupur: The police are investigating the CCTV footage of the robbery at a famous jewellery pawn company called Attica Gold Loans in Tirupur.
The shop is located in one of the crowded areas of Tirupur, the Kumaran Road.
Two days ago, a man who entered the store wearing a helmet threatened the employees with a sickle and managed to escape with Rs. 20,000 cash and 10 sovereigns of gold.
Following a complaint lodged by the company manager Thangaraj, police investigated the CCTV footage.
It was found that the thief was Alaguraj from Sirupooluvapatti who had been involved in many jewellery robbery cases.It is said that he used to pawn the stolen jewellery here and is quite familiar with the shop, which helped him rob it with ease yesterday.
The police have cast nets to nab the culprit.
