Robbers steal and strip victims threatening them not to reveal about the robbery
Coimbatore: In a shocking incident in Coimbatore, five unidentified robbers stole jewellery and cash and stripped the victims naked threatening them not to reveal about the robbery.
Sarojini, (name changed) 51-year female resident of Vadavalli, Coimbatore and Shalini (name changed) her 29-year old daughter are members of a women's self help group. The daughter had asked her mother for Rs. 10,000 to buy an old two-wheeler. Around 2 p.m. yesterday, Sarojini, who arranged for the money, invited Naveen Kumar (name changed) (37), an auto consultant she knows to discuss the purchase of the vehicle.
Naveen Kumar was followed into Sarojini's house by 5 masked men who locked it and robbed the people there. They lifted 12-1/2 sovereigns of gold jewellery and 8000 cash from Sarojini, Shalini and Naveen Kumar.
Thereafter they proceeded to strip Shalini and Naveen Kumar naked, snapped pictures of them and threatened to not utter a word about the robbery to anyone. The police have registered a case and are searching for the culprits following Naveen Kumar's complaint at the Vadavalli police station.
