Chennai: Five passengers arriving to TN via Shramik and Rajdhani trains tested COVID-19 positive.
Shramik trains carrying migrant workers to their home states are being operated in 15 routes along with Rajdhani special trains. Passengers who travel on these trains are isolated for 14 days. Meanwhile, five people who arrived on these trains to TN have been diagnosed with COVID-19.
Two of the 849 passengers who came in the Rajdhani train on May 14, from Delhi to Chennai, were diagnosed with COVID-19. One of the passengers who arrived at Tirunelveli from Delhi on May 17 in a Shramik train carrying 1,105 passengers was diagnosed with COVID-19. Following this, 172 passengers on the train were tested for COVID-19.
In another case, a Shramik train carrying 1,090 passengers from Pune to Tenkasi had two passengers who tested positive for COVID-19. All the passengers from the train have undergone COVID-19 testing.
