Public lay siege to Bajaj Finance office in Tirupur
Tirupur: Public laid siege to Bajaj Finance office in Avinashi Road, Tirupur alleging that the institution is extorting too much money in the name of interest.
The curfew has been extended to curb the spread of coronavirus throughout the country.
With the 4th phase of lockdown in place up to May 31st, the industrial city of Tirupur has been shut down. This has resulted in many workers losing their jobs.

Because of the lockdown, the RBI has advised banks to give moratorium for EMI payment of up to three months, but the Bajaj Finance office which operates on Avinashi Road in Tirupur has sent SMS to its customers asking them to pay EMI amount and also contacted them over phone pestering to pay the EMIs.

With many of them having insufficient balance in their accounts to pay the EMIs, the enraged and frustrated customers laid siege to the office and argued with the officials.
