Coimbatore: Hindu Munnani State President Kadeswara Subramaniam has demanded that the temples be opened with appropriate norms in place and has warned to protest in front of the temples on 26th stating rights to worship.

In his statement, he said, "while there are many large temples in Tamil Nadu, millions of small ones exist too. There is no chance of crowds in such worship places compared to the larger ones and also some of them are privately held." In his statement, he asked the government to issue orders to allow the less crowded, rural temples to be opened with the requisite social distancing norms in place.

Kadeswara Subramaniam has said that the Hindu Munnani is demanding for temples to be opened as visiting them will ease the stress of the people and requested that the government take a good decision in this regard. He mentioned in his statement that if appropriate action is not taken, the Hindu Munnani will protest in front of the temples by lighting camphor and performing 'thoppukaranam.'
