13-sovereign gold chain nabbed in a snatching incident
Coimbatore: Unidentified men nabbed a 13-sovereign gold chain from a woman who was standing alone in front of a shop.
Mangayarkarasi (53), wife of Edwin David (53) from Varadarajulu Nagar in Ganapathy, Coimbatore, was standing alone in front of a shop yesterday when a duo riding a two-wheeler snatched a 13-sovereign gold chain from her.
The shell-shocked Mangayarkarasi shouted for help, but the thieves fled at lightning speed before the neighbours arrived. Saravanampatti police have registered a case on the complaint lodged by Mangayarkasi and an inquest is on.
The incident has created a stir in the area and fear amid the public.
