A two-month old spotted deer injured by a vehicle on the Anaikatti mountain roads was taken care of by motorists and handed over to the forest department for treatment.
Coimbatore: A two-month old spotted deer injured by a vehicle on the Anaikatti ghat roads was rescued by a Journalist and forest field staff.
Anaikatti area in Coimbatore district Is home to many wild animals including elephants and deers. These animals often cross the ghat roads.
On Tuesday, a two-month old spotted deer which ventured out of the forest area and crossed the road, was hit by a vehicle on the Anaikatti Ghat roads. The deer that was struggling for life was spotted by a Senior Journalist, Sudhakar who immediately rushed to help the injured animal.
He fed the deer with water and handed it over to the guards at the Forest Department check post for further treatment.
The injured deer was administered first aid and was treated for its injuries by the forest department. Later, it was released inside the forest area.
