Municipality Zone Director inspects Akkamalai check dam
Coimbatore: Municipality Zone Director, Dr. Pavanraj, inspected the Akkamalai check dam from where drinking water is supplied to Valparai.
The water coming from the Akkamalai Meadow is stored in the check dam in Karumalai Tea Estate from where it is pumped into the city's water tank and supplied to the town of Valparai.
Valparai is currently experiencing a shortage of drinking water. Valparai Municipal Commissioner Dr Pavanraj visited the check dam and initiated action to solve the problem.
Zonal Director of the Municipalities, Sultana, and the Zonal Engineer of the Municipalities, Venkatesh, accompanied him. It has been decided to continue to expand the reservoir, strengthen the bunds of the dam, and replace the drinking water supply pipes. Municipal Engineer Saravanababu was also present during the inspection.
