The COVID-19 pandemic has mandated the use of face masks for one and all. While the general population wears normal masks, the differently abled with hearing impediments who use lip reading to understand what others communicate were left in a lurch.
Realizing their difficulties, on behalf of the Welfare of the Differently Abled Persons Department Office, Tirupur, face masks with a transparent covers which enable lip reading were presented to 2,000 people.
The masks were distributed by the Tirupur District Collector K. Vijayakarthikeyan.
