Coimbatore: Salons shut down due to the COVID-19 lockdown have been reopened in rural areas.
Due to the COVID-19 lockdown, salons and beauty parlours were asked to down their shutters. As part of the relaxation of the lockdown, the state government permitted operation of salons in rural areas beginning today.
After remaining closed for 54 days, salons in the rural areas near Thudiyalur including VSK Nagar, Pannimadai, Thadagam and Veerapandi reopened today. The shops were disinfected beforehand and hairdressers wear face masks while carrying on their duties. Customers who visit the shop are also being provided with sanitizers to cleanse their hands.
Since salons have reopened after 54 days, many are thronged by customers. However, social distancing is being maintained as part of the requisite preventive/protective measures.
