Trade unions in Coimbatore protest against increase of working-hour duration for Central Government employees


Coimbatore: Trade unions have staged a protest against increasing the eight-hour work duration to twelve hours for Central Government Employees.



A demonstration was staged near the BSNL office near the Coimbatore District Collector's office staged by various trade unions.

A number of trade unions including AITUC, CITU and LPF participated in the even. Wearing face masks, they raised slogans denouncing the central government. 

The trade unions have declared a nationwide protest until the 22nd demanding withdrawal of the increase in the working hours.
