Salons in rural areas permitted to function in TN
Chennai: According to a recent announcement by the TN government, salons will be permitted to operate in rural areas starting tomorrow.
With the extended lockdown in place till May 31, the Tamil Nadu government has been announcing various relaxations including operation of industries and inter-district/State movement.
In accordance with the decision of the Centre stating "the final decision on which shops will be allowed to open (such as salons, sweet shops etc) has been left to the discretion of the States", the TN government has permitted functioning of salons in the State.
Therefore, salons in rural areas will be allowed to function starting tomorrow. The State has insisted stringent measures such as wearing masks, disinfecting the premises frequently, and maintaining social distancing should be adhered to.
The announcement is a breath of fresh air to the hairdressers whose shops remained closed for over 50 days.
