Following the Supreme court's verdict, TASMAC outlets have been reopened.
A total of 241 TASMAC shops function in the District of Tirupur. They were opened at 10 AM today. At Palladam, 19 out of the 21 TASMAC shops have been reopened. Two shops in the urban area remain closed.
Earlier blue tokens were issued to the customers. The shops will be distributing 70 tokens per hour and a total of 500 tokens until 5 PM.
Once receiving the tokens, the tipplers have to wait in queues lines while maintaining social distancing and don face masks to buy their liquor.
Shops that are crowdy distributed tokens to all the customers; however only 500 of them will be permitted to buy liquor on a single day. The issued tokens can, however, be used on the next day to buy liquor.
