The State has reported 385 positive COVID cases on Friday, with an additional of 49 cases who have travelled from other states and international travellers. The total COVID cases in TN as of today has increased from 9674 to 10108. And, Chennai continues to top the list of COVID cases. Out of the 385 positive cases in TN, 309 cases are from Chennai.
According to the bulletin from the State Health Department, 3,03,104 test samples have been collected so far. A total of 2,92,045 samples tested negative of which, 12,198 samples are repeats.
As on May 15, COVID-19 testing is being done in 38 government and 20 private labs all over Tamil Nadu. While 10,108 persons have tested positive till date, testing of 951 samples is under process, 2,599 COVID-19 positive patients have been discharged, and 7,435 active cases are under treatment.
Adherence to health advisories and travel advisories issued by the State Government has been reiterated. Public should follow the cough etiquette by covering the face using handkerchief or towel while sneezing and coughing and stick to handwashing with soap and water.
