BJP State Treasurer, S. R. Shekar, said the BJP is very clear on leaning toward alcohol prohibition in the society and wished that the TN CM would take the initiative toward this.
Coimbatore: BJP State Treasurer, S. R. Sekar in a press meet here on Friday reitrated that BJP is very clear on supporting alcohol ban. We wish Tamil Nadu, CM will take efforts to put an end to alcohol in the State.
Speaking to the press at the BJP office in Gandhipuram he said, "the BJP has been clear about prohibiting alcohol. However the state government and the CM must take the initiative towards this end. The BJP has been functioning exceptionally well under the guidance of the State President L. Murugan in following COVID-19 preventive measures and providing relief supplies to the needy, and 4,50,000 people have been provided food in 34 places in Coimbatore and 38,588 people with the Modi Kit."
He added, "to build a new India post the pandemic, the BJP government, under the leadership of PM Modi, has allotted Rs.20 lakh crores. Many might have been critical of the government's actions, but that's just political vendetta. It should be agreed upon that there have been no deaths in the past 50 days due to hunger."
"The Indian government has helped other nations by exporting hydroxychloroquine tablets. Further by allotting Rs.20 lakh crores, the government has silenced its critics who kept harping the government is helping only the corporates. Prior to this financial announcement, the opposition parties spewed demeaning commentary; however when the plans are executed, these comments will come to a naught," he said.
"We don't agree with the TN government's decision of paying relief fund of Rs.1,000 in person, it must have been credited to their bank accounts. On a humanitarian basis, the BJP State President Murugan visited the house of Jaishree, the victim of the Villupuram attack. However a case has been filed on him for not following social distancing norms. The BJP will not be scared of such moves by the government," he said.
