The advisory meeting for the prevention of COVID-19 took place at the Coimbatore District Collectorate. Minister S.P. Velumani who attended the meeting briefed the press after the meeting.
Addressing the press, he said, "Coimbatore was next only to Chennai in following the COVID-19 preventive measures. Following the CM's advice, measures were taken on a war footing to make Coimbatore district free of COVID-19. Heartfelt thanks must be extended to all the workers and all those who cooperated with the preventative measures."
Further he said, " on behalf of the Coimbatore District, gratitude is extended to the the CM for the help provided to convert the district convert into a green zone. Only four patients from Nilgiris district are being offered treatment at the Coimbatore ESI Hospital now."
He said "A total of Rs.16.5 crores has been received as donations for the CM's Relief fund and thanks are due to all those who donated towards it." "People who step outdoors must wear face masks", he requested.
"Out of the 26 containment zones in Coimbatore 23 have been released and the three remaining zones will be released in the next three days", he added.
