Worker electrocuted in Coimbatore while working without safety equipment


Coimbatore: In a tragic incident, one worker from Trichy who was staying in Coimbatore was electrocuted to death in Saravanampatti area, here on Thursday. 

According to the police reports, Muthukumar (28) and his friend Dharmendra from Manachanallur area in Trichy were staying in the city and tending to glass fixing works. 

On Thursday, they were engaged in cleaning glass structures at a building owned by Anandakumar and Leo Vincent. It is reported that the building owners had asked Muthukumar and his friend to do some electrical repair works. 

While working, Muthukumar was knocked to the ground and died by an unexpected electric shock. 

The Saravanampatti Police are investigating the issue. Reports say that the men who were engaged in work were not provided any safety gear.
