Indian Railways have operated 642 Shramik special trains as of May 13
Indian Railways is operating special trains for migrant workers, spiritual pilgrims, tourists and students travelling from various places to their home states.
As of May 13, 642 Shramik trains have been operated across the country, the Railways Department said.
Details of State-wise operated trains are: Andhra Pradesh (3), Bihar (169), Chhattisgarh (6), Himachal Pradesh (1) Jammu and Kashmir (3), Jharkhand (40), Karnataka (1), Madhya Pradesh (53), Maharashtra (3), Manipur (1), Mizoram (1), Odisha (38), Rajasthan (8), Tamil Nadu (1), Telangana (1), Tripura (1), Uttar Pradesh (301), Uttarakhand (4), and West Bengal (7).
All passengers underwent a formal medical examination before boarding these trains. Also, travellers were provided with free food and drinks during the train journey.
