One-week-old child found abandoned near Coonoor

A one-week-old baby boy was found abandoned near the Madurai Veeran Temple in Kollimalai near Coonoor in Nilgiris. Police have rescued the baby.


The Nilgiris: A one-week-old baby boy was found abandoned near the Madurai Veeran Temple in Kollimalai near Coonoor in Nilgiris. Police have rescued the baby.

Kollimalai near Coonoor is primarily an agricultural center with tea plantations and vegetable farms surrounding the area. Most of the people here are involved in agriculture.

People passing through the area heard the cries of the newborn infant near the Madurai Veeran temple and informed the Kolakombai Police station.



The police arrived at the location and rescued the baby, which was put under the care of the Ooty Government Hospital. Police are investigating the incident.
