News about the tribal student Sanghavi who was unable to pursue her medical education after completing her twelfth standard exams due to non-issuance of community certificate has been doing the rounds. Along with this, the plight of tribe that she belongs to, the Malasar, living in Rottikavundenpudur near Thirumalayampalayam of the Coimbatore due to the lack of basic amenities gained prominence as well.
In a laudable reaction to the news, the Hindustan Scouts’ Association provided Sanghavi with an incentive of Rs.10,000 and have assured it shall cover all the pertinent expenses for her NEET exams and medical education. The incentive was provided in person.
Suffering from lack of basic amenities for the past four generations, the tribals were overjoyed by the action of the District Administration and the efforts of the District Collector K. Rajamani.
The erstwhile locked public toilets have been opened by the Thirumalayampalayam Panchayat.
Disinfectants have been sprayed and action is being taken to provide water connection to the village. The District Administration has initiated action to provide the people with ration cards, community certificates and road facilities as promised.
