The Valparai Municipal Commissioner Dr. Paunraj inspected the Amma Unavagam functioning under the Valparai Municipality.
Coimbatore: The Valparai Municipality Commissioner on Thursday inspected the 'Amma' Unavagam functioning under the Valparai Municipality which provides food to over 1500 people, three times a day.
With the COVID-19 lockdown in place, the TN government is providing a section of the needy with food, three times a day, through the Amma Unavagams that function across the state.

During an inspection today, the Municipality Commissioner checked the quality of the food and compliance of social distancing and associated COVID-19 norms.
He advised the employees to ensure that food is been prepared in a hygienic way. Further, he reiterated the importance of following social distancing norms and wearing of masks.
The Municipal Commissioner instructed the workers to wear face masks while at work and serving food. He also vested them with the responsibility of ensuring the people who visit Amma Unavagam wear face masks.
Later, he advised the employees at Amma Unavagam to disinfect the entire premises, frequently.
