Department of the SC and Tribal communities of the Church of South India offers relief supplies to the Tribal people in Valparai

Coimbatore: The CSI Church presented 100 tribal families in Valparai with relief supplies.

Around 1,500 tribals of the Kaadar, Pulayar, Mudhuvar and Irular descent live in tribal settlements and hamlets in the dense forests of the Valparai region, Coimbatore.These tribals have been affected by the COVID-19 lockdown.

The Valparai CSI church and the Department of the SC and Tribal Communities of the Trichy-Tanjore Diocese presented around 100 tribal families of the Valparai region with relief supplies.

Department Head and Bishop, Chandrasekaran, and In-charge, Father. Sudarshan, arranged for the relief supplies to be presented to the tribal people and the families were provided with the same by the Director of the SC and Tribal Communities Department, Father. John Prabhu along with the Forest Department. The event was presided over by the Diocese Head, Father. Jeyaraj.

To begin, with the relief supplies were provided to the tribal people residing at Koomaati and Palakinar.

Anaimalai Diocese District Women's Association President, Elizabeth Rena, Manampalli Forester, Vishnu, Administrators, Jebaraj, Kumar, Jasper, Ezhil Jeffrey, Forest Department workers, and many others participated in the event.
