The Nilgiris District Collector Innocent Divya announced today that people who arrive in Nilgiris district even with E-passes will be isolated for seven days.


The Nilgiris: The Nilgiris District Collector Innocent Divya announced today that people who arrive in Nilgiris district even with E-passes will be isolated for seven days.

Speaking to the press in the evening she said, "All those who come into the district in possession of an E-pass will be isolated for seven days. Arrangements will be made to transport all 1,941 people from other States who have registered to leave the district. After preparation of the final list and permission from the States, people who have requested to travel will be transported from the Nilgiris district to their respective States. So far, 1941 people have requested to travel to other states."

The Collector further informed that "Samples of 195 pregnant women in the district have been collected and all are tested negative for COVID infection."

She clarified that clothing stores can remain open, if social distancing measures are followed diligently.
