Ondrinaivom Vaa (Let's Get Together), an initiative implemented by the DMK party President M. K. Stalin called for applications requesting assistance during the COVID-19 crisis. Many applications have been received and the DMK District Secretaries presented some of the applications to the District Collector requesting action on them.
Coimbatore: Ondrinaivom Vaa (Let's Get Together), an initiative implemented by the DMK party President M. K. Stalin called for applications requesting assistance during the COVID-19 crisis. Many applications have been received for help that require administrative assistance and the DMK District Secretaries presented some of the applications to the District Collector requesting action on them.
The DMK Party President M.K. Stalin had called for his party members to help the needy during the COVID-19 lockdown. In order to make it easier for the people to reach out for assistance, he launched the initiative 'Let's Get Together' (Ondrinaivom Vaa) where people can call in for assistance.
Hundreds of thousands of applications requesting assistance were received from all over the state. The DMK cadres have been providing incessant assistance based on the applications. In the cases the applications require the assistance of the District Administration, they were presented to the District Collector K. Rajamani.
DMK East District In-charge, MLA N. Karthik, Suburban North District Secretary, C. R. Ramachandran, Suburban South District In-charge, Thendral Selvaraj, and City West District In-charge, Muthusamy, presented the applications to the District Collector who promised action on them.
Speaking to the press MLA N. Karthik said, "The lockdown is in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19. In this point in time, as per the orders of the DMK President, the party cadres have been extending a helping hand to various needy persons. People who requested assistance through the phone from the 'Let's Get Together' (Ondrinaivoam Vaa) programme have been provided with assistance. Some of them have requested medical assistance too, which can be extended by the District Administration. As per the suggestion of the Party President, we have insisted that the District Administration do the needful. A total of 4102 action-seeking applications from the district were presented to the District Collector by various DMK District Secretaries."
