1464 migrant workers sent to their hometowns by train
Tirupur: In Tirupur, as part of transporting migrant workers to their hometowns, the second batch of 1464 workers were sent home today. With 1164 of them already sent by train to Bihar last Sunday.

In the second phase, 1464 more are being sent today by the district administration.
Previously, the migrant workers were subjected to the testing protocols under the supervision of the District Collector Vijayakarthikeyan, who allowed them to be sent to their hometowns.
Water bottles, food and other essentials were provided to the migrant workers on behalf of the district administration. In a meeting with reporters later, District Collector Vijayakarthikeyan said migrant workers who wish to go home are being sent.
More than 700 workers have already obtained bus passes online and 10,400 people have applied for special trains to get to their native land.
