The Supreme Court has not taken the TN Government's case challenging the decision of the Madras High Court regarding the reopening of TASMAC shops in the state.
Coimbatore: The Supreme Court has not taken up the TN Government's case challenging the decision of the Madras High Court regarding the reopening of TASMAC shops in the state.
Due to the COVID-19 lockdown TASMAC shops in the state were also closed. However, the government decided to reopen the stores on May 7 and insisted that social distancing norms should be followed. However, in spite of arrangements social distancing norms were thrown to the winds in many places.
Following a case by many political parties, the High Court therefore ordered for the TASMAC shops to be closed down again. The TN Government decided to move the Supreme Court against the judgement of the Madras High Court.
However the Supreme Court has not taken the case of the TN Government challenging the decision of the Madras High Court as it pointed out some flaws in the petition and the HC order
