The Coimbatore Corporation Contractors Association through a release has suggested that the salaries payable for the employees of private organizations for the month of April 2020 to be paid by ESI or if the private organisation (s) pays the salaries, then the amount paid as salary may be adjusted against the ESI remittance payable in the future.
Coimbatore: Due to the outbreak of the pandemic COVID-19, the government had announced lockdown to prevent the spread of Coronavirus which resulted in the closure of all Private Organizations and this resulted in a financial crisis for many of the Private Organisations.
In this scenario, the Coimbatore Corporation Contractors Association through a release has suggested that the salaries payable for the employees of private organizations for the month of April 2020 to be paid by ESI or if the private organisation (s) pays the salaries, then the amount paid as salary may be adjusted against the ESI remittance payable in the future. The above suggestion, if implemented will help the private organisations from losses at this present scenario, the association suggests.
The Coimbatore Corporation Contractors Association represented by its Secretary K. Chandraprakash has filed a case in this regard at theHigh Court on the above subject regarding payment of salaries to employees for the monthof April 2020. It may be noted that 14 similar cases have been filed all across the country.
If Government agrees and implements the above suggestion, many employees will be saved from fear of losing their job and also boost private organisations to restart their operations with new zeal and motivation, proposed the association in a release.
