DMK distributes essentials to over 2000 families

The Nilgiris: On behalf of the Nilgiris District DMK party, its District Secretary and former Government Whip PM Mubarak provided essential goods, including vegetables, to over 2000 families at his own expense.

With the lockdown in force in the Nilgiris district, people have been without work for more than 45 days. With all the tea estate and construction work being paralyzed here, the economic condition of the people has become questionable.

In particular, people living in Coonoor, Krishnapuram, Parasuram Street and MGR Nagar are mostly construction labours and living as daily wage labourers.

They do not have sufficient funds to meet their essential needs. In this backdrop, its DMK District Secretary, PM Mubarak, on behalf of the Nilgiris district DMK has provided essential commodities, vegetables and other items to the public of over 2,000 families.

The DMK city secretary M. Ramasamy, Deputy Secretary of State for Minority Affairs R. Anwar Kham, Sadakatullah, and M. Wasim Raja of the youth wing were present. DMK Secretary PM Mubarak said that the DMK would continue to contribute to the poor until the lockdown ends.
