For the 43rd day, the Nilgiris District BJP cadres along with Masaniamman temple in Coonoor, hosted a three-day meal programme for the poor families affected by the lockdown.
The Nilgiris: For the 43rd day, the Nilgiris District BJP cadres along with Masaniamman temple in Coonoor, hosted a three-day meal programme for the poor families affected by the lockdown.
The initiative was led by District Head Kunkumaraj and District General Secretary Iswaran.
The BJP has been providing food and other necessities including food for the people of Nilgiris district. All three meals in a day were offered in various rural areas to people under the poverty line.
Masaniamman temple executives Sudarshan, Anand, Murali, Raghu and others have been involved in making arrangements for the event, on a daily basis.
Similarly, vegetables, rice and other items were distributed to the public on behalf of the District Secretary Pappanan to people living in areas including Kattery, Highfield, Vannarapettai and other areas.
About 100 families living in different parts of the city have been identified and provided with essential commodities, including rice, pulses and other necessities.
The Nilgiris district BJP cadres have informed that food and essentials will be provided to the needy, until the lockdown is fully revoked.
