1,140 migrant workers working in Coimbatore leave today on a special train to Bihar. The train with 24 coaches will accommodate 54 passengers per coach. It will reach the Sahara Junction, Bihar on May 10.
Coimbatore: 1,140 migrant workers working in Coimbatore leave today on a special train to Bihar. The train with 24 coaches will accommodate 54 passengers per coach. It will reach the Sahara Junction, Bihar on May 10.
The migrant workers who are to undertake the travel today were provided with food and water.

They were issued tokens and were taken to the Kottaimedu Nallaayan Marriage hall where they were counted. Following this they left for the railway station.

Body temperature of all the passengers was tested once they arrived at the railway station after which they will be permitted to board the train.

A medical team, the District Collector and District Revenue Officer were at the railway station looking over the arrangements.
The railway station road has been blocked near the District Collectorate and Lanka Corner to prevent any vehicle movement.
