While 'Air India' flights have began their operations to evacuate 15,000 Indians stranded at various countries. 'AIR INDIA' Senior Pilot, Commander S.Bhagat Singh from Tamilnadu who is working in the mission has said that he feels so proud to act as a soldier in the nations fight against 'Covid-19'.

In order to help Indians who are stranded at various foreign countries. Few days back, the central government announced that under 'Vande Bharat Mission', 64 flights and three navy ships would be operated to bring back thousands of Indians who are stranded at various countries such as 'UAE', 'USA', Kuwait, Singapore, Malaysia etc.

As per the announcement the operation have started which has made all the peoples happy. At this juncture Commander of Air India, S Bhagat Singh has shared his experience and his feelings working under this mission.

In an Exclusive interview with 'Simplicity' he said: My Native is Thiruchendhur, Tamilnadu. My Father Sundaresan was Advocate by profession but did business. Unfortunately few years back he passed away. Mother is a home maker. I have two brothers and one sister. I am the only person in the entire family to work in the aviation sector. Its been 26 years for me [from the training till today] in this sector.

Unlike our routine duty in the normal days, the entire situations has been changed after this 'covid-19' outbreak. I was working till the domestic and international flight operations were suspended.

Now again a mission has been started to evacuate the stranded Indians at various countries. Hence again I am back to the cockpit. On Thursday I operated the Air India flight between Maldives and India. On Saturday I would be operating the flight between Dhaka and India. Thus my work will continue throught this mission.

There are 9 Air India flights operated from Chennai under the mission and out of the total pilots working 7 of them are from Tamilnadu.

All the pilots should undergo 'COVID 19' medical test before they join the duty. Personal Protective Equipment[PPE], Masks, Gloves, hand sanitisers, and all safety equipments will be provided. Social distancing are ensured inside the fight cabin. All the cabin crew are also tested and provided with the safety equipments.

As a part of ensuring social distancing inside the flight cabin. Air hostess are provided with Umbrellas to use them on board. Unlike operations during the normal days, the feeling and satisfaction working understand this mission is totally different since myself and my colleagues are playing a major role in helping the stranded Indians to come back to home country.

'COVID-19' is like a war and all the peoples are soldiers. I am happy to act as one of the soldier and really feel proud to be one among the soldier who is in the frontline.

Each one of us have the responsibility in this fight against this pandemic. Hence all of us should act accordingly. Avoid going out unnecessarily. While going out for essential services and emergency social distancing should be strictly followed. Wearing face mask must be compulsory and no one must go out from their house without wearing it. Frequent handwashing with soap and usage of sanitisers should be followed by all the members in each and every family strictly. Staying home itself is a kind of fighting.

'Stay home and stay safe', he said.
