Coronavirus: Tamilnadu crosses 5000 mark in total number of cases; 580 new cases today
Chennai: The high number of new cases per day trend continues today too. Today Tamilnadu registered 580 new cases today and as with the previous few days, Chennai leads the trend.
The Tamilnadu State Health Department had stated that “Till now 2,02,436 samples have been taken and sent for testing. COVID-19 testing is done in 36 Government and 16 Private labs all over Tamil Nadu. 5,409 persons have tested positive till date. 1,95,831 samples were tested negative.
Testing of 1,196 samples are under process. 9,862 samples are repeat samples. 1,547 COVID-19 positive patients have been discharged following treatment till today.
Hence, 3,822 active cases are under treatment as on today. The general public are advised to adhere to health advisories and travel advisories issued by the state Government.
Public should follow the cough etiquette by covering the face using handkerchief / towel while sneezing/ coughing. Do frequent hand washing with soap and water.
