Coimbatore: In another drink and drive accident, two youth escaped unhurt after their car toppled near Thondamuthur on Thursday noon. Earlier, a similar accident near Aathupalam was reported, this is the second accident reported in the city on the same day due to drink and drive.

According to reports, two youth from Vadavalli allegedly in an inebriated state were over speeding in their swift car on Thondamuthur road, here.
When their car reached near Pudhupalayam, the man behind the wheels lost control and plunged the car into a newly dug sewage pit.
The car massively banged and toppled. The passersby and the public immediately rushed to rescue the youth. Miraculously, they both sustained only minor injuries and were stable.
Upon information, the Thondamuthur police arrived to the spot and commenced investigation.
After the 43 days of lockdown, the State announced to open the TASMACs today. Since morning, men thronging to buy liquors and rash driving has been reported in several parts of the city.
