According to reports, Mangamma (19), daughter of Ammavasai and Kannamma has been working at a private estate in the Aladaveli area near Coonoor in the Nilgiris district. Today, while she stepped out to dry clothes, accidentally a high voltage electric line rubbed against the cloth drying rope. She got electrocuted and died on the spot.
Saranya (26) and Mangamma's brother Tirupathi (16) were injured while trying to save her. They were rushed to Government Lawley Hospital in Coonoor.
The Kolakambai police are investigating the incident. The untimely death of Mangamma caused immense grief among her family and neighbours.
