Vehemently opposing the ruling AIADMK's decision to open TASMAC shops, DMK and its allied parties including the CPI (M) showed their dissent by wearing black masks and badges.
Calling it a irresponsible and dangerous move, the CPI (M) cadres led by MP Subbarayan protesting wearing black masks. They gathered on the Tirupur -Uthukuli road and raised slogans against reopening of TASMACs.
The placards carried messages that opening of liquor shops will attribute to more COVID cases. They also demanded to provide PPE and masks to medical staff including doctors and nurses.
Cadres of DMK, MDMK and CPI(M) took part in the protests.
