DMK protest against TASMAC reopening in the Nilgiris; 60 out of 73 shops opened
The Nilgiris: The controversial move by the State government to open TASMACs across all States, has sparked outrage among the people and political parties.
Acting upon the advice by DMK President MK Stalin to protest against the move by the State government to open TASMACs, the Nilgiris DMK cadres staged an agitation in front of former Whip, PM Mubarak's house on Thursday.
"After the 43 days of lockdown, TASMAC shops were reopened today at 10 AM in the Nilgiris district. Among the 73 TASMACs across the Nilgiris, a total of 60 TASMAC were opened today. The shops could transform as hotspots for COVID spread", the DMK cadres opined.
They raised slogans to immediately close down the shops and safeguard the livelihood of the people.
