State-wide protests against opening of TASMAC
Coimbatore: The DMK coalition parties staged protests across the state to protest the opening of TASMAC shops. As part of this, DMK coalition parties also staged demonstrations in Coimbatore. A protest was headed by MP PR Natarajan opposing the opening of TASMAC in the state amid COVID-19 pandemic. The Marxist parties staged a protest on Thursday wearing a black sign in protest.
They also insisted upon the central government to provide sufficient funds to the State Government to intensify corona prevention. The DMK coalition parties have been calling for a protest across the state, wearing a black sign, condemning the state government, which opened the TASMAC to take away the bare minimum earnings of working people who are left homeless and without work.
As a result of this, the district office of the Marxist party in Gandhipuram, Coimbatore, had earlier staged a protest against the central state governments wearing black signs.
District secretary V Ramamurthy and state committee member C. Padmanabhan participated in the demonstration led by Coimbatore MP PR Natarajan. The DMK legislator of the Singanallur constituency, N Karthik, Peelamedu, staged a demonstration in front of his residence in Anna Nagar, wearing a black shirt and mask.
Similarly in front of the Congress party leader Mayura Jayakumar's house in Ramanathapuram Krishnaswamy Nagar, MDMK on VKK Menon Road, Gandhipuram, in the Karunanidhi Nagar area of the Trichy Road, under the aegis of the State Youth Wing Secretary Painthamizh, the Communist Party's office on Syrian Church Road hoisted a black flag and raised slogans against the government.
