Chennai: Slamming the TN government's decision of reopening TASMAC outlets during this pandemic situation, MK Stalin, President of DMK has called it as a highly irresponsible and dangerous move.
Taking part in an agitation infront of his residence on Thursday along with his family members, the opposition leader was seen wearing black face masks and holding placards to closedown TASMACs.
Maintaining social distancing, MK Stalin along with his family raised slogans against the State government's decision to shut the TASMACs with immediate effect.
With COVID positive cases increasing everyday in the State, how could even the government announce of opening back the TASMACs now?, they criticised.
"When the government is skeptical ofopening essential shops and industries, how come they don't have any skepticism in reopening TASMACs. Can decision by other states to open liquor outlets, be a precedence for Tamil Nadu to also open liquor outlets. Only a government with no concern for its people will resort to such moves", he lambasted through slogans.
Slogans were also raised that reopening TASMAC will lead to serious law and order issues.
The opposition leader sternly voiced that the move to open TASMAC could lead to further increase in COVID cases and condemned the CM Edapadi led government to revoke the order with immediate effect.
