Flower showers for COVID warriors at the Coimbatore ESI hospital

Health care workers at the Coimbatore ESI Hospital showered with flowers and appreciated for their commendable service towards the treatment of COVID-19 patients.

Coimbatore: The COVID warriors (doctors and healthcare workers) at the GMC & ESI Hospital in Singanallur were honoured with a flower shower and appreciated for their commendable service towards the treatment of COVID-19 patients.

The spread of COVID-19 has shaken the entire world. In spite of various preventive protective measures the spread of the disease has been rapid and central and state Governments have been taking several measures to control the disease spread.



In Coimbatore however, COVID-19 patients who have been admitted at the GMC & ESI hospital have been receiving quality treatment and most of them have recovered quickly to return to their homes. Of the 146 patients admitted at the hospital 141 of them have been cured and discharged. Only four more patients are still under treatment for COVID-19. Many sections of the society have appreciated the commendable work of the hospital team incharge of the COVID-19 treatment.

In a heartfelt gesture of appreciation on behalf of the ATMA Trust, Imayam Lions Club and Ruthambra Trust, the doctors and other healthcare workers of the ESI Hospital were showered with flowers and honoured. This event moved the hearts of the patients and doctors who witnessed it.



Speaking about this the founder of the ATMA Trust Kandavelan said, "We are proud and happy to honour the medical team at the Coimbatore ESI Hospital. The trust has been providing face masks and other necessary equipment to the doctors who have been involved in the treatment of the COVID-19 patients. We are eager to honour them. Their work is praiseworthy and commendable", he said.

ESI hospital Dean Nirmala, Medical Supervisor Ravi, Volunteers Nandakumar, Kandavelan and many others took part in the event.
