NCC cadets of Coonoor Providence College for women volunteer to assist Police Personnel against COVID-19

The NCC cadets of Coonoor Providence College for women have volunteered to assist Police Personnel in the fight against COVID-19.


The Nilgiris: The NCC cadets of Coonoor Providence College for women have volunteered to assist Police Personnel in the fight against COVID-19. 

The cadets were provided online training on precautions, safety measures, on COVID-19 via Diksha App online. And, on successful completion of the training, modules were permitted to assist the Police Personnel in queue management, social distancing, food distribution and traffic control.

The cadets under the guidance of NCC incharge Cynthia George have been extending their services ever since April 9, 2020. She expressed how the volunteering has taught them the basics of disaster management and instilled the true spirit of nationalism during emergency and the real essence of women empowerment. 

Cadets have assured that they would continue their volunteering till the Nilgiris district is declared a green zone and the lock down has been revoked.
