Minister for Municipal Administration and RDI S.P. Velumani diatributed COVID-19 relief supplies to over 50,000 families in Valparai on Monday.
Coimbatore: Minister for Municipal Administration and RDI S.P. Velumani distrbuted 50,000 families in Valparai near Pollachi with COVID-19 relief supplies.
Due to the COVID-19 lockdown, many families have been affected, especially those of daily wage labourers, who have lost their livelihood due to the lockdown. Many political parties and volunteer organisations have been helping out the poorer sections of society with essentials.
In line with this, 50,000 families in the Valparai constituency were provided with relief supplies on behalf of the AIADMK. Minister for Municipal Administration, S.P. Velumani, inaugurated the relief supply distribution and flagged off 16 lorries carrying relief supplies to the people residing in interior areas and in hilly terrains of Valparai.
The Minister also requested the people to heed to the advice of the Chief Minister Edappadi Palanisamy and stay indoors and maintain social distancing.
Minister S.P. Velumani, Valparai MLA Kasthuri Vasu, former MP Mahendran, Valparai Cooperative Bank President V. Hameed, City Secretary Mayil Ganesan, Vasu and many other took part in the event.
