Public movements increase following relaxations in lockdown


Coimbatore: Following the announcement by the State government of relaxation norms during this extended lock down period, people in the city were seen getting back to normalcy. Several places which were void of any people movement were seen flooded.

Though the impact of COVID19 is rising everyday,keeping in mind the livelihood of the people, the State government has permitted to open certain establishments while maintaining strict social distancing norms.

Since all of these relaxations have been implemented since today (Monday), the public movement has increased in various parts of the city, including Town hall and Gandhipuram. Motorists were busy shuttling to their work places, after a long break.

People at many places maintained social distancing, while thronging the grocery shops to buy essentials. Police were deployed at all prominent junctions to ensure lock down norms are adhered to and advice people on social distancing and wearing masks.
